Gibson returned the Flying V to its roots in 1990 after experimenting with numerous aspects of the design throughout the '80s. Eschewing the offset knobs and beveled edges from the previous decade, Gibson returned to one of the earliest standard production versions of the Flying V from 1967 for inspiration, using a more traditional triangle-knob layout, and plain mahogany body woods.
